26/06/10  2010 CVIAQ Apprentice of the Year Award
 

Nominations are now open for the 2010 Apprentice of the Year Awards. The Awards are open to apprentices of CVIAQ member companies and their Queensland based branches that have or will be finalising their formal training in 2010. The entrants must be nominated by their employer and their application is assessed by a judging panel comprising members appointed by the Association.

The Nomination forms have undergone some changes to assist the judging panel accurately assess the credentials of each nominee. The significant changes are:

   
The addition of an employer reference page where employers will need to address the points listed in support of their nominee
   
Nominees must request a reference, using the page supplied in the nomination kit, from a training instructor from their most recent period of training
   
Nominees will now know how they are to be assessed with the inclusion of the judging panel selection crieria in the nomination kit
   
The inclusion of an application checklist will provide nominee and employer with a list of items that need to be included in any nomination application received by the CVIAQ  
 

Nominations will close on Friday 28th August with the judging to take place in September.

The presentation for the Apprentice of the Year will take place at the CVIAQ Annual Dinner and Awards Night to be held at the Greek Club, South Brisbane, on Saturday evening 6th November 2010. Awards will be presented to finalists by CVIAQ President, Mr Bob Martin, along with award sponsors, Mr Doug Warby of Warby Tools and Mr Peeter Liiv of National Transport Insurance.

N.B. Employers please remember that nominations for any trade calling are limited to a maximum of two apprentices in the final stages of their training per member company. This includes any nominations from your branches.
