21/11/11  Brisbane Truck Show Economic Impact Results Released

CVIAQ commissioned one of Australia’s most recognised consulting groups; AECgroup to conduct an Economic Impact Assessment of the 2011 Brisbane Truck Show.  Once again the results for the industry’s premier event are outstanding.

Over the duration of the event, the Brisbane Truck Show attracted 65% of its visitors from outside of Brisbane, whilst 33% of those transited in from interstate or internationally. Even more impressive is the whopping impact the show contributed to the State economy, generating:

* The equivalent of 248 full time employment positions, and adding an

* Additional expenditure of over 57 million dollars into the Queensland economy.

This contributes a boost in the Gross State Product (GSP) of 27 million dollars, coming at a time when the Queensland economy was in recovery from natural disasters and a depressed tourism market.

Mr Brett Wright, CEO of the Commercial Vehicle Industry of Queensland commended the CVIAQ members, industry exhibitors and attendees of the Brisbane Truck Show for the manner in which they embraced the relocation of the Show to the BCEC. It comes as no surprise that the Economic Impact Assessment for 2011 has exceeded those previously undertaken. Each and every exhibitor raised the bar, their exhibition stand designs, company and product presentation were all of a world class standard and further cementing the Brisbane Truck Show as Australia’s premier event.

CVIAQ is committed to delivering Australia’s premier event, run by the industry for the industry.

Dates are set for the 2013 Brisbane Truck Show:  May 16th – 19th put them into your diary now, for more detail visit www.brisbanetruckshow.com
