CVIAQ Member Services Manager, Mr Paul Woodland, was on hand to witness the formal handover on long-term loan of a written-off heavy vehicle from CVIAQ member, National Transport Insurance (NTI) to SkillsTech Australia. The Truck is to be used for training purposes at the new $13 million heavy auto facilities at Acacia Ridge Training Centre.
The handover signals the commencement of an ongoing relationship between SkillsTech Australia and NTI whereby vehicles will be supplied, replaced and returned on a regular basis.
SkillsTech Australia Automotive Business Manager Chris Kroehn said the initiative from a NTI is generous and will significantly benefit our trainees and apprentices at all levels of their training.
“This vehicle features braking systems, automatic transmission and engine technology utilised in today’s current highway vehicles,” Mr Kroehn said.
“Students will be able to extensively dismantle, reassemble and test all components of these loaned vehicles thus providing invaluable work experience during our training programs.
“We thank NTI for their generous assistance in initiating a program which will assist our students to learn current and relevant skills directly aligned to the needs of industry.
“This initiative will support the next generation of Heavy Road Transport Technicians.
SkillsTech also acknowledged the CVIAQ as it was through one of the association's member events that the relationship between SkillsTech and NTI was initiated. |
