The CVIAQ Future Directions Seminar held on Feb 17th 2011 at the new CVIAQ premises proved a success. Key speakers were Bruce Ollason (Transport and Main Roads QLD and Allan Jonas representing the Administrator Vehicle Standards along with Richard Hancock National Heavy Vehicle Regulator project. Mr Robert Smedly from Knorr Bremse also gave an excellent presentation on new electronic technology affecting brake and cruise control systems.
The event was attended by 70 guests from the membership who were treated to an informative day on where our industry is heading. The National Vehicle Standards and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator presentations gave a great overview on the Federal situation with the State developments being covered by the TMR representative. Mr Les Brusza of TMR QLD provided excellent information on the testing carried out as a result of the National Heavy Vehicle Brake Strategy. Mr Brusza also invited CVIAQ Members to take part in a Braking Workshop to discuss these results.
Members were pleased with the information provided by the speakers and commented that the day was a great success.
