24/11/10  CVIAQ Technical Seminar well attended by Rockhampton Industry

Industry Members met in Rockhampton on Thursday 24th November for a Technical Seminar hosted by CVIAQ. Technical and Regulatory Officer John Samson travelled to Rockhampton for the event.

Held in the meeting room of Rockhampton Leagues Club the Seminar was attended by 26 members of the local heavy vehicle industry. These ranged from body builders to dealer principals of local dealerships. It was pleasing to see the heavy vehicle teachers from Rocky TAFE also attending the night.

The meeting was advised of the technical issues being worked on at present as well as future plans of the association. The meeting discussed the potential effects of the change to a single national heavy vehicle regulator as well as topical issues affecting the industry.

Local industry was pleased with the evening’s information and thanked CVIAQ for making it possible. Further regional Technical Seminars will be scheduled for 2011.

Members wishing to have a seminar in their area should contact Paul Woodland at the CVIAQ office p.woodland@cviaq.asn.au for further information.
